At Café Diem it is okay if you’re one of those who likes to seize the coffee in order to seize the day. Café Diem is conveniently located right on Ankeny Boulevard near the interstate with a handy drive-up window to grab your java and go. But if you cannot live by coffee alone Café Diem has a variety of breakfast specialties like their fresh-baked muffins and delicious scones to partner with your beverage.
Lunch is tasty at Café Diem. Enjoy the comfortable atmosphere, spacious tables, comfy booths, and a conference room available for seating 20 (upon appointment). The Café Diem menu includes an array of fresh made salads, soups, and assorted sandwich options.
Jen and Bill Malone, owners of Café Diem, have long been in the restaurant business and work hard to bring value to the community as well as your table. If you care about locals then be sure to check out the show lineup of local musicians that can be heard on Friday and Saturday evenings. Browse the walls for the current local “artist in residence” and learn about local writers who compete for the annual fiction contest they sponsor.
It’s all there at Café Diem, “Javalicious” tastes, sights and sounds!

Just as a heads up, it doesn't look like the Cafe Diem site is functioning right now. I checked in both Firefox and IE and it appears to be rather blank.
On the topic of this post, my wife and I live in Ankeny and drive by this shop all the time, always craning necks to peer through the windows and catch a glimpse of the inside, but we haven't made the time to stop in just yet.
It's nice to see that they have some very available hours and the conference room is also something that interests me. Once I get my Buzz membership renewed I'll have to take the wife out for a cup of coffee.
