#89 Wilson Bickford artist and art instructor
Wilson Bickford has been in his business, a business that just evolved for him, more than 20 years. I love his story and the lessons he shares about what people ultimately are seeking when they come to him for his instruction. Knowing what your customers want and acting on that need is key. There are artful epiphanies here.

Thanks again for the interview, Sherry. I enjoyed it! I just wanted to get the word out that since the interview, I have also set up my own "artist blog". Mainly, it's my thoughts, observations and inspirations, but I also post some of my recent paintings. I welcome viewer's comments.

Wilson; Is there any chance that you will be closer to the Syracuse, NY area? I live so far from all your class locations. Being older it is hard for me to go that far, in VT and PA. Ogdensburg and Boonville are a distance also.
I would love to take a class of yours. I enjoy oil painting and have been painting since 1993. I'm not good but I enjoy doing it and want to learn more each time. I have taken a couple of classes of Bob Ross's when I was visiting in Colorado.
Sorry to hear that you will not be in the Albany area now. I could have made the Joann's there.
Hope to hear from you.

Hi Barbara,
Thanks for your interest in my classes. My schedule takes me in many different directions, and it changes as I pick up new locations. A few years ago, I was doing classes in Mattydale and Fayetteville, but have branched to other areas for now. This business demands "new territory", so I'm always looking for fresh opportunities.
I WAS in Syracuse in late November, ( Commercial Art Supply - Erie Blvd. ) as I'd been hired by Grumbacher to do some product promotion and "in-store" demos. They asked me about hosting some classes there, but with the Holidays and all, I have yet to get back in touch with them. But, that may be a definite possibility. It would probably be best to keep an eye on my web schedule for developments. www.wilsonbickford.com
I also do a monthly session in the New Hartford/Chadwicks area ( Utica ) which may be closer for you. You said you could make the Albany trip? I'll also be in Saratoga Springs in March, which wouldn't be too far from the Albany area.
Also know that I do many "Private Sessions", whereby people get a bunch of friends, family, and co-workers together to have a class. All we'd need is an adequate location or space ( Church basement, Town Hall, Community Center, etc. ) That way, I could come right to your area. I hope we can get together and paint!! If you have any questions or desire to pursue such a class, contact me at wilson@wilsonbickford.com
Thanks again!
